After three months of intensive learning and project development, the young innovators of the NextGen Anchors Program have proven just that. Their final projects showcased an impressive array of creativity, innovation, and problem-solving skills, addressing real-world challenges with fresh perspectives.
The NextGen Anchors Program, a groundbreaking initiative by Eight2Five Innovation Hub, powered by Old Mutual, in partnership with TME Education, has been dedicated to nurturing the next wave of innovators, entrepreneurs, and leaders. Through hands-on training, interactive sessions, and invaluable mentorship, participants honed essential skills in programming, innovation, electronics, design thinking, leadership, and communication. Our heartfelt thanks go to the facilitators who played a key role in making this program a resounding success.
After weeks of engaging and enjoyable learning experiences, the final project showcase was a testament to the participants’ ingenuity and determination. The projects spanned critical areas such as sustainability, healthcare, and education, demonstrating practical solutions to pressing issues. Some of the standout projects include:
- Environmental Monitoring Robot: An autonomous robot designed for environmental monitoring, adaptable for use in various settings, including outdoor, home, and office environments.
- Lifestyle Robot: This smart robot enhances daily life by monitoring ambient temperature, alerting users when it’s time to open windows, and automatically turning on lights when it gets dark. Ideal for homes, schools, and offices, it adds convenience and efficiency to everyday routines.
- Greenhouse Cooling System: A smart system developed to optimize greenhouse conditions. It automatically activates fans and cooling mechanisms when temperatures or humidity levels rise beyond optimal limits, supporting more sustainable agricultural practices.
